Troubleshoot
When a product is not visible, an import failed, or search cannot find it.
The complaint arrives as one sentence: "the product is not there". Before you open anything, work out which of three things that sentence means, because each has different causes and a different person to ask. A buyer who cannot browse to a product has a catalog problem. An import that reports 340 failed rows has a file problem. A product that sits in its category but stays out of the search results has an index problem.
Each page below is a list of causes in the order they turn out to be the answer, with how to check each one and how to fix it.
- Product is not visible — the six usual causes, from the enabled flag to the missing price.
- Import failed — rows rejected, nothing matched, or duplicates created.
- Product is not searchable — exists, is visible, and search still does not return it.
