Understand storefronts

What a storefront is made of, and the B2B specifics: hidden prices, customer-specific assortments, and a shop that is a working tool rather than a shopping experience.

Two ideas carry this whole area.

The first is that a storefront is four separate layers (site, theme, page, block) and that confusing them is what makes "where do I change this?" a hard question. It also explains why most storefront complaints are not storefront problems: no product description, no price and no assortment decision lives here.

The second is that in B2B the same URL is a different shop for every visitor. Prices are often hidden until login, the catalog can be specific to one customer, and the buyer is at work rather than browsing. That has no B2C equivalent, and it is where storefront projects that copied a consumer shop go wrong.
